Have no idea what this is - must be meant to grind something or another.... it's not even quite 2 feet tall, so it can't be a washing machine. :-) Anyway - it's rusty, and the reds in the rust against the pretty colors in the wall worked well..... yet, I have really liked presenting photos from Ruby in B&W, so I made the conversion. Your thoughts?

Nice tonal range and POV. My guess is that it's some kind of a press, an early juicier. Maybe grapes or what have you. :)

Lou Ann I adore "somethings" which are from another time and can't resist their attractiveness! And I think I know what's this something! It must be something for straining, squeezing the juice out of something (grape, corn, some fruits). I prefer to think that it is how whiskey had been made, corn that is! Bourbon!

Great find! Great placement of the juice extractor in this shot ( I agree with Pierre on this one) and I love the combination of textures of all the stones and leaves and the old weathered wood shelf it is sitting on. All make for an interesting bg and framing.

You know, it makes a lot of sense that it might be something to squeeze juice out of things. I know that when this town was a working mining town, they had quite a bit of trouble with alcoholism. I wonder if this thing was something used in moonshine-making.....
