I'm surprised, from this POV and especially with this lens, that the nose isn't larger and the eyes smaller; instead, it's the opposite. Hmmm. You've boldly tackled all those rafter and beam lines from down low, with success. Subject matter...you're treading near my turf! Where's the bird and dog? Next you'll have the horse nuzzling a jackalope in the foreground.

Hey, Tim. It's a trick!

First, it's a miniature horse (and as minis go, an unusually short-legged one, at that). So, he's not much bigger than the dogs I so often shoot, and that means that your normal sense of equine porportions are going to be very deceptive here.

Second, this is shot at 20mm, which is the more normal-ish end of the range on that lens. The expected perspective and spherical distortions aren't nearly as pronounced at that focal length. And, I did do some lens correction in NX, as well.

As for crowding your turf: guilty! I even spent a few minutes studying the poetic interaction of wheelbarrows, manure forks, and the gentle Virginians wielding them. More on that soon.

thanks for leaving a welcome note. I just started browsinbg your portfolio and then met this little fellow. Nice b_w and a nice point of view.Good wide angle shot. I had to chuckle a bit about the message you left. So you know. Ton Mestrom and I have been good friends since a long time.
