Guest Guest Posted June 21, 2008 This is an almost for me. In my opinion you need to lose the jacket on the couch as well as the shopping gear or whatever it is behind the couch. The photos on the wall also (seem to) locate the shot in the photographer's house or apartment. I would prefer to see Cousin Donald in his own habitat. The white socks also look a little blown out and the highlight on the subjects left had is also a bit bright. But an interesting subject who has tremendous character. Also, love the textures and pattern of the rug. I also like the use of wide angle and the way the lens bends the space around the subject. I also like the subtle and sensitive desaturation. Just opinions. Regards, Mead Link to comment
raddatzphoto 0 Posted June 22, 2008 Gives me a strong idea who he is. White socks, strong hands, courageous pose read his approach in life. Likewise interesting you decided to leave the kilter top border. Like the "duo tone". Link to comment
celasun 0 Posted June 25, 2008 After reading the two above comments, I am confused about the "distractors". I cannot really decide whether they distract or, somehow contribute... Lesson: Write your own comment before reading those of others! Anyway, I liked the portrait you produced with one of the widest angle lenses available. Link to comment
reighamsyde 0 Posted June 25, 2008 I would like to think that the surrounding distractions add to the photo (Bill brant) used to do this type of thing and I had a kind of documentary feel about it . But I can see why other opinions differ. Thanks anyway for looking and good luck with your photography Link to comment
