timkeller 0 Posted June 27, 2008 Potentially a very very busy picture, unified into one beautiful image by your artful composition. I love how the diagonal composition exists not only in the balloon lines from lower left toward upper right but most notably in the dual centers of interest: that gorgeous flame which rivets my eye, and that rogue almost-white balloon that's gone off by itself...those two strong elements creating their own diagonal line as they draw my eye back and forth. Excellent. Link to comment

lesa jones 0 Posted July 14, 2008 Thanks everyone for the comments on this image. It was taken very late, with literally the very last available light of the day. The balloon in the air was desperately trying to find somewher to land before complete darkness came. I happened to be in the right place at the right time for the composition. I like several elements of the image including the fact almost every step in flying one of these is included in the shot. The balloons that are horizontal are in the process of being inflated (for an evening "glow"), then the balloon on the far left is "feeling the flame" and attaining some buoyancy, and of course the balloon in the air. thanks again for everyone stopping by.
