Hammer in hand, Rev. Ralph D. Abernathy launches construction of the

"Resurrection City" shantytown at the the Poor People's Campaign in

Washington, DC, in the spring of 1968. Successor to the recently-slain

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Abernathy led the Southern Christian

Leadership Conference's unique month-long anti-poverty encampment on

the Washington mall. Your comments and critiques are always welcomed.

Thanks...Bill

Bill, this whole  series is great- what a historical treasure and a lesson needed to be repeated over and over today.
