paolo de faveri 1 Posted June 18, 2008 I had initially chosen this pine tree simply as a shelter from the sudden rain. Then I realized that those roots could make for a nice foreground. Taken last week at the lake of Arpy, a glacial lake in the Western Alps near to the Monte Bianco range in Valle d'Aosta, Italy. Please see it larger and enjoy all the fine details. Your c&c are highly appreciated, thanks for your time. Paolo Details: EOS 400D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, tripod. The picture is a stitch of four vertical frames Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted June 18, 2008 It is messy; but it works. Good composition and exposure; and a great misty feeling. Good work; and thanks for sharing. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
davidclapp 0 Posted June 18, 2008 You certainly make the most of the weather Paolo. I love the crazy contrast throught the shot, a little busy perhaps but an unusual photo as no one photographs in the rain! Well done. Link to comment
paolo de faveri 1 Posted June 18, 2008 Thank you Chris and David for commenting on this. You're right, it's messy, though with such a dull light I'm really surprised of the nice contrasts in the foreground. David, yes, that's what I actually thought: noone photographs under the rain... that's why I tried! After all, you only need an umbrella to provide cover to your precious gear, while you get soaked to the bone, of course :-) Actually, having a third hand would have helped a lot in this shot: one hand for the umbrella, one to turn the tripod head through the scene, and the last to fire the shutter. These are the moments when I start considering the advantages of having an assistant... :-)) Cheers, Paolo Link to comment
