jeffl7 0 Posted June 17, 2008 Anthropomorphizing the scene a bit, I imagine that dry twig as a fallen warrior returning to a line of elders in the background. There seems to be a tension between this spent little tree and the arrogant cluster of evergreens in the distance. The storm clouds only echo the turmoil. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 17, 2008 It seems that you also have a talent for poetic literature as well as the visual arts. You have a beautiful way with words, and I really appreciate your comment. It goes beyond what I was thinking about when I took this. I was simply thinking how still and quiet it seems when it is actually teeming with life. There is all sorts of drama going on with the waterfowl, amphibians, fish, snakes, insects. Oh, and my little Yorkshire Terrier Molly, who decided to go for a swim in the slime. Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted June 17, 2008 In a past life or should I say marriage, I owned a Yorkie. A ferocious little beast, sneaky, and quite high maintenance. Don't get me started on the dog. Link to comment
mmene 0 Posted June 18, 2008 Very fine and beautiful composition. Bravo. Regards Michael. Link to comment
karolostrivizas 2 Posted June 18, 2008 Really perfectly composed landscape Linda with nice f/g and great depth. The glorious cloudy sky and the rich b/w tonality make this image excellent. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 18, 2008 Tolo, thank you, I'm glad you like it. Jeff, Yorkies sure can be ferocious, Molly is sweet and loving with people, but she will attack any other living creature. She once brought an angry, charging mother bear with three cubs onto my back deck, and amost through the door. She doesn't understand that she is tiny. Michael, thank you, nice to hear from you. Karolos, you are so kind. Thanks for commenting, I appreciate it. Warm regards to all of you. Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted June 18, 2008 Wonderful use of contrasts. I'm not sure I'd want to know all the secrets here. thanks for sharing Linda Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 19, 2008 I don't know if I would want to either. It looks much more foreboding in B&W than it did in colour. Thanks for looking and commenting. All the best. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted June 20, 2008 A beautiful image! I LOVE the sky!! To be nit-picky, I think that the trees in the distance and the bottom left foreground are a bit too dark (is it clipped?), but those dark spots don't detract from the overall dramatic presentation. Lovely! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 22, 2008 Very ominous scene! I'm from BC, living now in Texas, so I've enjoyed looking at your photos and remembering the beauty and mystery of the North. We're heading back to Canada in early July, as my youngest son is getting married. Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted June 23, 2008 I think I see a detached foot or hand there floating in the swamp. But, I guess that's what one comes to expect in B.C. these days! A jewel of an image. GJ Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 23, 2008 Lou Ann, t hanks for your thoughts. Hmmmm, perhaps it is a bit too dark. Kim, thanks, How do you like living in Texas? Must be dramatically different from B.C. GungaJim, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, we've been on the news, huh? It wouldn't suprize me if there were something like in there, there's no denying the strange, creepiness in this part of the world. Thanks for commenting. Warm regards. Link to comment
