paolo de faveri 1 Posted June 13, 2008 Hi everyone, I had a nice scouting in the Alps near to the Monte Bianco range last monday, and I was very surprised of seeing how summer is delayed this year. This is the lake of Arpy, a small glacial lake at 2000+ m. of altitude above Morgex in Valle d'Aosta, Italy. I didn't expect to still find some ice on the lake surface, but I was even more surprised by the total lack of wild flowers, in an area that is normally covered by beautiful flowers in this season. Really a die-hard winter this year! Your C&C are highly appreciated, thanks for your time. Paolo Details: EOS 400D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, tripod, GND 2x. jeffsoo 0 Posted June 13, 2008 To me the main interest of this image lies in the curving forms of the pattern of the melting snows on the mountains and the curve of the far lakeshore, and their reflection on the lake's surface. The murky suggestion of fantastic shapes at the bottom of the lake add to the dreamlike atmosphere. The trees and rocks on the right, while beautifully rendered, detract from the mystery of the image. Link to comment
berenos 0 Posted June 13, 2008 Amazing picture, especially thanks to the remaining snow. I know what you mean. Here in Switzerland I can't wait to start hiking, but the snow holds me back. Link to comment
