roy sydiaha 0 Posted June 11, 2008 What first seemed too washed out strikes me as quite beautiful. Mom's middle name is Dawn, too, so there's some serendipity in me having set the camera poorly for the light. Link to comment
andrea_kleffman_gervais 0 Posted June 11, 2008 I like the effect of the blown out window, I wish that the subject was a little more in focus, just not as sharp as it could be perhaps? Link to comment
roy sydiaha 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Thanks for your words, Andrea. Yes, as with many of my shots, grainy, unclear look. Junky camera, that's why, I guess. But then I rather like the dreamy look. Link to comment
andrea_kleffman_gervais 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Grainy isn't bad, it can be pretty and really add something to a photography, particularly in black & white... the word I think that you are looking for is "digital noise" those little coloured dots imo are noise. But grain in it's true form isn't bad at all. And you're right it does have a dreamy look about it Link to comment
roy sydiaha 0 Posted June 12, 2008 Thanks for the explanation. Digital noise, right. Is it because I use a cheap point 'n' shoot (Canon PowerShot A75), or because this is a very tight crop of a shot taken 8 feet from the subject, or both, or just what, I wonder? Link to comment
andrea_kleffman_gervais 0 Posted June 12, 2008 Yes it could be party because of the crop/zoom-in you did in post. How many megapixels is your camera? That would also be a factor. Link to comment
