When the Ceretto family purchased 6 hectares of vineyard in 1976 in

Brunate, one of Barolo’s three most important and best-known crus, they

also acquired a small chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Grace.

Built in 1914 as a shelter for people working in the surrounding vineyards in

the event of heavy rain or hailstorms, the chapel had never been

consecrated.

With the passing of time, the chapel gradually fell into a state of disrepair

due to lack of use. The idea to renovate the building was sparked off by an

encounter with the English artist, David Tremlett, a keen wine enthusiast

who had come to the Langhe in 1997 to set up an art exhibition in Barolo

Castle. The artist was immediately taken by the idea, and suggested

involving his American friend, Sol LeWitt, in the project.

La historia que cuentas suma originalidad a la foto, que ya de por si la tiene. El color es obviamente alegre, y contrasta con el caracter nostalgico de la historia del edificio. Llevas mi 6/7 en anonimo. Un abrazo EL. Eugenio.

an interesting piece of art. once i had a jewel box, when i was a little child, it had many brilliant colors, morning grass green, clear sky blue, mellow orange yelow, season grapes purple, and many undescribable colors on top, surrounding, and buttom, on top, it had three precious stones, colored dark green, milky white, and rose red. i put all my treasures in the box, yet don't know when, i lost it, only on some occasion, it occured. once i had a beautiful jewel box. regards.

Que colores, parece un dibujo animado rodeado de un paisaje 'natural'. Has procesado muy bien el color para obtener esos tonos tan brillantes. Pena maxima en anon.

That's the most colourful chapel that I have seen, the bright colours definitely cheer one's spirits.
