Those mountains really came as a surprise to me: you're in the middle of Italy, arguably one of the places on Erath that has been the most civilized for the longest time, right between Liguria, Lombardia and Emilia, three rather opulent regions, and those mountains feel like complete wilderness.

This was taken as we stopped to rest the car and the people in it, at a crossroad in the middle of nowhere, with just a tiny chapel in the middle of nowhere. And then we took the road downhill, towards the wide plains of Padania...
