aeg 0 Posted June 6, 2008 Native to the Chesapeake Bay the Skip Jack worked the waters for oysters and clams. They were constructed in the 1800s and early 1900s so they did not have engines. The boat you see moored at the back of this vessel was later incorprated to make these vessels more versitile. They would use them during low wind conditions and for working the oyster beds.
