Your photo caused me to stop and think if I had ever seen a bird "smile". I have seen crows being quite playful with each other and I believe they are smiling inside, but I was not close enough to them to see if there was a gleam of mischief in their eyes.

Hi Shawn, I never did hear of the word mischief, (I did look it up, I know now) I am myself very 'proud' to have catched this, because every time I came closer she/he did go away, but suddenly it was as if she/he wanted to play with me, beautifull birds btw those owls, thanks for your visit....

Els, I read many years ago that if you cry, you cry alone. If you smile, everyone will smile at you. No wonders, the owls are responding to your smile.

Definitely an infectious smile :-) I have seen owls's stern professor look but not their smile. Nice take, Else.
