aghinescu 0 Posted June 5, 2008 This is the best shot from the 3 package you posted for critique. Image contains some nice points of attraction like the trails, the lonely tree and the green grass that covers much of the picture. Unfortunately, there are some errors and poor points too. we're too far of the trails so we can't focus one that primarily, image in upper left corner is over exposed, the picture is leaning towards left side. next time use a circular polarizing filter or get it done in PS. henrimanguy 0 Posted June 5, 2008 Thank you Andrei for your critic. Yet I think that you make some errors in your judgement. About the leaning of the image, if you look at the tree you can see that it is vertical. This is not the image which is leaning but the soil which is sloping. About the left corner, it is not overexposed but the normal shading off when you look at the sky in the direction of the sun. In the right corner the sky is blue, and the more your look towards the sun and the left corner, the more it becomes white. Just normal. Link to comment
aghinescu 0 Posted June 5, 2008 it might be that I'm wrong about the leaning but left side looks over exposed and i think it is. to compensate what you've said about left and right sky, which indeed is nature's way, you could use a circular polarizing filter. i didn't want to criticize you but in fact give some facts that might have made this better. henrimanguy 0 Posted June 5, 2008 The polariser filter has no effect on the sky when the sun is in front of you or in an angle lower to 90 degres. Link to comment
aeg 0 Posted June 9, 2008 I like this shot and the luminous quality of the grasses. The tree makes an excellent subject. Perhaps split neutral density filter was what Andrei was thinking of in controling the blown out sky. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 11, 2008 I think viewers often wish to see what LOOKS right rather than what IS right. I have no issue with the sky being lighter on the left. You can see by the lighter, sunnier grass on the left side of the field that that is where the sun is. The well lit clump in the left foreground is evidence of that. I like the strong contrast in the foreground. The light and shadows play well against the subdued distant view, and the solitary tree balances the furrows on the right. It's a very pleasant summer view Henri. Link to comment
