myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 4, 2008 In my stupid opinion portraits are supposed to be about the subject not the photographer. A portrait is a statement, "this is who I am". Your photos do this. Most photos here are about whatever the photograher can think up to be "original" like stand on your head or something. The only original thing needed in a portrait is the person.... as in the above. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted June 5, 2008 Meir, with the changes brought about by the ability to manipulate images digitally, photography has to a great degree become graphic design. Thus the emphasis is on the creativity of the designer. Also, I think the media has contributed. Imaginary worlds are created in tv shows and movies, as well as in advertising. We no longer want to see the world as it is or people as they are. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 5, 2008 Even without manipulation (maybe rare) many if not most of the portraits and nudes on this site are stupid. Link to comment
