Closer up detail of the same truck. Wish I had a different angle so that the headlamp was pointing into the shot rather than out.... Your thoughts?

Excellent shot and you've done a good job with that strong lighting. The bright, shiny trim and headlight seem a little incongruous with the rusting body, but is well positioned. The tires look fully inflated (in the B/W image), is this truck still operational? Mike

Ya' know, I didn't even think about the headlight looking so much more "in tact" than the rest of the truck. I doubt it's still operational, but who knows....

Of course anytime I see someone else's images of an old vehicle I am immediately envious and then wish that I could have been there too. I like this view and I believe it is the reflected sky that makes the headlight appear to be new and in working order.

You know, Shawn - it took the better part of the day to (1) drive through the mountains TO Ruby, (2) explore the ghost town itself, and (3) drive through the mountains in the other direction to LEAVE Ruby. And it was TOTALLY worth every minute. I'll post more shots. The only regret was that after all of the driving to get there & back, there was no way for me to get good light. (Sigh...) That's the story of most of my time in Arizona.... Anyway - you would love Ruby! If you're ever in the Tucson area, spend a day driving out there.
