I think this looks like I used HDR software on this, but I didn't. I used

Photoshop's shadow/highlight adjustment and layers. Any thoughts for

improvement, critiques, ratings are always welcome. Thank you for

looking.

Looks good.Color ,contrast and composition look excellent. I think a little final sharpening would help the image have greater impact Though. Best Regards

This has the elements of a great watercolor. Great blocked-in shapes, an effective use of the "white" space, and a somewhat dreamy touch. I really love this one.

George, it is Roche Lake, south of Kamloops. It is not only beautiful, but full of trophy rainbow.

Jeff, watercolour is my favorite medium. Maybe I should try to do this as a watercolour. Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

Warm regards to all of you.

Actually, Linda, I think that the shadows/highlights tool often produces HDR-like results. I often need to use "levels" to punch up some of the colors in the image after I use S/H. But I like both tools. Next on my agenda is to learn more about using curves instead of levels, as they say that it's MUCH better.

Anyway you slice it, though - I really like the image. The family in the boat really gives this image something special. I also love the different green tones in the trees and all those gorgeous poofy clouds. Nice!

I used my polarizer filter on this. I think it brought out the greens and helped create better definition in the clouds and water. I like using both the shadows/highlights, levels, curves, contrast, exposure, filters, just about everything in Photoshop. I like to experiment. It is also wonderful and rare when something comes straight of the camera and I don't feel I have to change anything. I am so glad that you like this. It was a beautiful day. Thank you!

This is a wonderful and wholesome image. It reminds me of Norman Rockwell in content, feel, and message which is a good thing. Really like this shot. I hope you are doing well. I have not heard from you in a while. Best wishes and take care. ....

Talk about everything coming together just right! It's painterly without looking too painterly -- as some photographs try to do. It communicates feeling, memories, etc. rather than just a static moment in time. A lifetime keeper especially for the subjects in the boat. Many other good photos in your portfolio.
