This is a tarantula my cat found one day after a heavy rain. It was very close to dark so i held the branch up to the sky and turned on my Rebel Xti built-in flash and it gave me a black backround. Enjoy.

But considering the size of the spider it is not nearly sharp enough as should be! And the light seems to be a flash light meaning the stopping down of the aperture couldn't be a problem. especially from the low distance! Good, anyway!

I agree with Pierre - the background works well, but the spider needs to pop by being sharp as possible. I see you're a close neighbor - I'm in Corpus Christi.
