kathughes 0 Posted June 1, 2008 i assume this was from a walk into the canyon. amazing place. i spent two weeks rafting through the canyon, and it changed my life. (see my portfolio for a few shots from the colorado river looking up.) wonderful colours & depth of field. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Thank you Antonio and Kat. As far as where the shot was taken, we were about a 1/3 of the way down the south rim. We hiked across from south to north rim in a day (very much not recommended, but I run marathons and I was with a group of experts who have done the hike many times). The canyon drops over a mile down to the colorado river (the hike was about 22 miles). It was amazing, and way too hot. Thank you again for your comments. Dan Link to comment
eugenio_pastor_benjumeda 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Hello Dan. As Joao comments, what most I like is the big DOF, and also the colours and the honest light. I love walk and climb, so I think you enjoyed that day, sure. Best regards from Eugenio. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Thank you Joao Pereira and Eugenio. Somehow this image hasn't captured much attention from the PN audience. While I like it, maybe it isn't "glitzy" enough. Just for fun I might try a high saturation version and see how it does. Anyway, thank you again. Dan Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted June 3, 2008 In my opinion, saturation is just fine. For me this place is so magic, that I could never get tiered of seeing pictures of it, specially done so proficiently as the ones you've posted. The hike from rim to rim must be fantastic, and not only for the scenery, I bet it is a tremendous challenge to go through the ups and downs carrying a camera (my guess is you wouldn't take it with you on a marathon). Do keep on posting more like this. Cheers! Link to comment
