elportebonheur 0 Posted May 30, 2008 As the result of heavy rainfall in northern Italy, flooding of the river Po has occurred during last night. This is a shot from my balcony at 4 pm today. Regards from "sunny" Italy...! Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted May 30, 2008 El, I love how you have captured this river rising. It's great that you added the other attachment to show perspective. What's interesting to me about this one is how it looks like the river ENDS right there at the wall. Fascinating scenes, well captured. Link to comment
Link to comment
Saludos. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted May 30, 2008 Thank you Liz for stopping by and for your nice comment. I just wanted to show that we have an very unusual situation here - at least for Torino, Italy. That's why I brought it into picture. Indeed, it looks as if the river stops here - in fact it is the flooded lower promenade , famous for walking ( the dog...) hanging out and jogging during daytime, or party and disco scenery during the night... Of course, in the global context this inundation is peanuts, I know, however it is 'talk of the town' here. Thanks again and warm regards from sunny Italy, El. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted May 30, 2008 Muchas gracias Antonio y Agustin. Link to comment

Vicente. Link to comment

E 'meenta'?
elportebonheur 0 Posted May 30, 2008 Thank you dear friends for your comments and interest in ' over the top' - a trivial occurrence in the global context but a natural phenomenon for us 'locals'... to Ruud: de groeten terug naar droog Drenthe, inmiddels is het hier ook weer droog, alleen het waterpijl is nog steeds 3m boven normaal...heel fijn week-end toegewenst, groetjes, El to Vicente: todo esta OK , me siento alto y seco con una buena vista sobre el rio... Un abrazo, El To Necip: the river banks are now a paradise for bird photographers as yourself... rarmstrong 0 Posted May 31, 2008 It's great that you included the other image and the explanation. What an event for your city! How often does this occur, or is it unusual? Well composed and interesting shot! Regards, Dick Link to comment
knobby6 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Ramp and the wall add a good backdrop to the river. I hope this doesn't happen to often, looks like it would be rather inconvenient. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Dear friends, thank you for stopping by and for your comments on my documentation. To answer your question: no, we rarely have this situations and - as Paolo de Faveri wrote the other day - the last two serious inundations were in 2000 and 1994. Normally you can nearly walk through the river this time of the year..( if you know where the stones are ...:)) Anyway, thank you for visiting and have a nice dry and sunny week-end. Warm regards, El Link to comment
