You have captured some beautiful light here, Matthew.

The converging lines always work well for me and the layering with warm and cool tones is very effective.

I sometimes come across comments that say: "this looks like a painting".

Well, this actually looks like a photograph, but it moved me to run a Dry Brush over it and turn it into a painting. Mainly inspired by the great display of clouds...

I hit the brakes and pulled up quickly for the very same reasons - I saw this vista before me not unlike a painting of some bucolic rural / agricultural scene. The sun was so dusky red and so low angled that this rather dark soil really glowed like hot embers. I like the dry brush rendition, it's quite in keeping with my original intention for this exposure. Thanks for your input here.

 

This particular corner in the road always produces a certain fine quality of light every morning and evening I pass by, I have photographed this field several times for several different reasons. Often it pays to take backroads and dawdle at low speed with the camera pack on the passenger seat.......
