peter_daalder 0 Posted June 5, 2008 You have captured some beautiful light here, Matthew. The converging lines always work well for me and the layering with warm and cool tones is very effective.I sometimes come across comments that say: "this looks like a painting".Well, this actually looks like a photograph, but it moved me to run a Dry Brush over it and turn it into a painting. Mainly inspired by the great display of clouds... Link to comment
Matthew Brennan 3 Posted June 10, 2008 Peter, I hit the brakes and pulled up quickly for the very same reasons - I saw this vista before me not unlike a painting of some bucolic rural / agricultural scene. The sun was so dusky red and so low angled that this rather dark soil really glowed like hot embers. I like the dry brush rendition, it's quite in keeping with my original intention for this exposure. Thanks for your input here. This particular corner in the road always produces a certain fine quality of light every morning and evening I pass by, I have photographed this field several times for several different reasons. Often it pays to take backroads and dawdle at low speed with the camera pack on the passenger seat....... Link to comment
