paolo de faveri 1 Posted May 29, 2008 Hello everyone, third of the series from the Val Chiusella. The roaring river, the sparse trees, the fog and the suspended atmosphere, and finally the fact that it was the seventh day of rain, made me think of a rain forest. I still didn't know it when I shot this picture two days ago, but now we have an alert for probable floods here in Piedmont. Many rivers in the alpine valleys have already broken the banks, and we're waiting the peak of water in the plain for tonight. If it will be disastrous as in year 2000 and 1994, the power will be probably shut off to keep safe the plants. It's funny, Piedmont have never had disastrous floods in the past centuries (yes, centuries!!), and now we are going to face the third flood in 14 years. And still someone of the government is arguing that climate is not changing... Perhaps I'll be off the net for a while. See you after the flood :-)) Details: Eos 400D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, tripod. Stitch of three horizontal frames. Link to comment

gial 0 Posted May 30, 2008 since I live near this area I always knew Valchiusella as a very "rainy" place and your pictures confirm that (I'm joking of course). But your wonderful and spectacular pictures reveal also how beautiful a "rainy" place could be. Congratulations! Regards, Gino Link to comment
