Taken at sunrise in Ajo, Arizona. I loved that there is a cross on the hill in the distance. The church was such a beautiful subject, I couldn't resist setting it against this hill. Your thoughts?

Well, I'll be darned...a square crop format from Lou Ann! [After he picks himself up off of the floor] This is a beautiful photograph; nicely composed, and the light you've captured is just wonderful. I have seen this church many, many times and you've done a terrific job of really showcasing its best feature. Ajo, as you may know, used to be a booming copper mining town. Now it is primarily the home of the Border Patrol and their families. Nice job on this shot. Cheers! Chris

Thanks, Chris - the little B&B on Guest House Road in Ajo was wonderful - and the breakfast was to die for! :-) Square was the only thing that worked on this shot - there was a bit of a wall on the left and half a palm tree on the right, and they both looked dumb. But I wanted the cross on the hill to be included. It was the only way. :-)

Beautiful colors. I really like the addition of the cross in the background. Nice capture.

Well done, Lou Ann, as mentioned. The lighting and tones are great. The smaller, second cross is very subtle and works well to balance the shot.
