I love this shot!... I went to Bodie some years ago, but it was summer. It looks much more interesting with the snow for photography. Very nice.

Thank you Teresa for stopping by! I visited Bodie over this Memorial Day weekend, and I was fortunate enough to experience this snow at the end of May.

The texture from the snow in the air really makes this special. Just a thought--if you mirror it from left to right the building seems even more ominous, and is probably easier for western left to right brains to process :o)

Thank you all for your visits and kind words on this photo! I was very lucky to have this photogenic weather at the end of May. I do not want to attempt to visit this place in winter when temperature goes down to 20 degrees below zero.

I had visited this place in May this year during Memorial Day weekend. Even in this weather there were many visitors. This place is now California historic park, and protected by resident Rangers.

Your Merit Award is well deserved. From all your photos (which I find most outstanding mostly) this one has really touched my senses. This is storytelling at its best - it made ME feel lonely, cold and forgotten all of a sudden...
