you might want to spend more time with this model and/or your processing software. You could do better than this.

Yes Vladimir I know that you do; that expression is exactly her, and exactly how she is toward everyone -as you guessed on your own.....Steve, you are correct There is always room to do better but I don't know how. Next time suggestions would help...... I don't know much about processing software so I leave things "as is" and I usually take just one shot..... As for more time with her, that is not possible. Final exams were on Thursday; Class is over :-). I look forward to your return and comments on all of my postings most always no one ever comments. /meir

I'll try to make a suggestion or two, though mine are of the simple variety.

If your model is another student in the class, try to keep in touch, so that you can model for one another. This can also apply to other members of the class, and to people with whom you already spend your time.

In the age of digital photography: buy a bigger memory card and start taking five pictures for every one you take now. Good photography requires practice, just as any other artistic pursuit. This image shows that you have a good eye for people, and you interact well enough to bring out the good in your model.

Try to get to a better venue, then be aware of your surroundings. The backdrop is part of the image.

If your equipment permits you to alter DOF, do it. It would have helped here to blur out the background.

Experiment, keep shooting, and have fun. That's what it's about.

You are correct that it is dificult to get reaction on this site. I encounter the same thing. There are many who will anonymously post poor ratings, ignore them. They couldn't come close to re-creating what they like to bash. BU that's a different issue.

that was a mispelled but, and a part ot the comment that is unrelated to your photo. I was just venting about the occasional frustration in getting comments and critiques, while there are pleny of volunteers that anonymously bash photos with ridiculous ratings.
