Guest Guest Posted February 2, 2010 Hernest, I love everything about this portrait except: Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. -- And you don't want to crop her bottom or her pant cuff off. If you want all of her in the portrait, go ahead and put all of her in. If you want just part of her in it, go ahead and crop like you mean it. This way, it appears to be a mistake.
