Sam, I saw your work in NW forum, but reading your comment in Gordon B. File...I came to "travel" better in your work. The richness of your imagination, and very creative work was a great find., like this one that show it so well, very good abstract, beautifully composed, vivid colors and light.

Will come again, and will not neglect commenting ...;-))

Summer, both the images you commented on are vector drawings. Both were done some years ago in Canvas, probably version 9. I'm not sure if Illustrator has these capabilities or not, Canvas is lacking solid updates so I have not upgraded from vs.10 to 11 and am unable to use vs 10 with Vista so am no longer using it. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for looking.

I dont often rate abstract work because it doesnt always appeal to me and feel I would be doing it an injustice if I give low ratings, however, every now and then I see something I like and can appreciate for what it is. your is one such example of that. well done Sam 6/6

Lovely work! The geometrics and the clean detail are wonderful. I noted that you satted earlier that this is a vector image. I have attempted to delve into vectors, however have been quite unsuccessful so far. Any advice.

Thank you Art and Janusz. Appreciate the comments and ratings.

Hi Katherine. I don't know what type of software you have, but to do really good vector images you need really good software with innovative capabilities. I think there are some really good 3D programs out there, however I have never worked in them. I'm sure that Adobe Illustrator is great, but I have not worked with it. Canvas, in which this image was created, is highly regarded in many industrial design fields, is kind of like having Photoshop, Illustrator, a web design and professional publishing software (plus) all wrapped up into one package. Needless to say, a very steep learning curve.

I like to work sometimes by starting with a blank screen so to speak. No pre-conceived idea about an image at all. Just let something materialize by playing with shapes and the software's capabilities. This is what happened with this image. Another good example of this would be my "Full Speed Ahead" image in my portfolio http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5636522 that was done in Photoshop. It started with a photo of a piece of colored glass that I just started manipulating with the Liquify Tool. The shape of the dolphin emerged and from there the rest of the image just fell into place.

I hope this rather vague answer helps.

Thank You Sam,

That was very helpful. So far I have just been using either my corel photoshop. I also have adobe, however have not had the opportunity to try any work on Vectors. I willl have to check out the Canvas Program and see if my budget will allow me to indulge. I really feel llike it is the next step for me to take, so this can be my challenge for the New Year. Thanks Again. Take Care Katherine
