Life mirrors a show window as a young man in a striped track outfit

passes a depiction of an athlete in stripes in a sports store display

window in downtown Kyiv, Ukraine. Your ratings and critiques are

invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very critically, please

submit a helpful and constructive comment; please share your superior

photographic knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks!

Enjoy! John

Great capture! Even the men's shoes blend. Wonderful composition. For me, this image is a one in a million to get. You couldn't sit and plan for this scenario. Well done.

I particulary liked it, now if the rest of the raters . . . . .

Oh well . . . that's the rating system.

Best.

A great shot of life imitating art. Or is it the other way around? What I find engaging are the reflections on the store window. There seems to be something going on with the two women walking along these guys and a gentlement wearing what looks like a beret checking out the girls.

As always, nothing gets away from you, Adan, including reflections in windows, which is the first thing a photographer should look for, if only possibly to see him(her)/self looking back at same with camera in face taking it all in.

You mnight look in this folder for a photo of an old hotel in San Francisco with Rooms for Rent, in San Francisco (if you have not already commented) in which there are old men sitting in the window, then look at the reflection and see the movie theatre across the street with its giant marquee -- possibly it's a hotel (SRO -- single room occupancy -- one with a basin in the room -- so the men can pee late at night instead of going to the toilet down the hall) which even today is a standard for older people with no money living on Social Security and pensions, living their lives out, day by day, with an occasional 'meatwagon' stop to punctuate the daily passing (if you will) and to give them a chance to salute the deaprture of those they encounter as they exit life.

That photo is a rich one.

I had almost given up on analzying this one, and if it's a beret, I can't be sure, but it's as likely a guess as mine or perhaps more likely, as I was concentrating on the striicing outdit in front of this Nike store (yes, even in Kyiv, Ukraine).

And a man looking at a girl -- in Ukraine -- nothing could be more natural .

(I wrote a long response and have deleted it -- it was too prolix) in part because I can hardly take photos nowadays, most of my good cameras and lenses having been stolen as I wait for an insurance claim to be processed.

Thanks, Adan W. for your watchful eye. It always is appreciated.
