younes 0 Posted May 21, 2008 This is an identical comp to my last post, but the light is the mostincredible I have ever witnessed. Your comments and thoughts areappreciated. Link to comment
vincentfavre 2 Posted May 21, 2008 Hello Younes, a very special shot. Theses rocks are really impressive, and the low sky too ! Vincent Link to comment

brandon-proctor-photograph 0 Posted May 21, 2008 The image is very well composed, but the hyper sharpening is a bit much...I would dial that down a bit. Link to comment
yves_fortin 0 Posted May 21, 2008 Nice light and color temp, I agree too with to much sharpening in the image. Link to comment
sketch_tbhotmail.com 11 Posted May 21, 2008 Well Younes, I think this composition works better for me than the last post (very similar, I know but still slightly different). The light is beautiful and you've really captured an incredible sky. In the previous post there is a lighting strike at the very edge of the frame but the placement keeps it from being a prominent part of the scene. All in all, I like this shot much more. As for the oversharpening, its a slippery slope (believe me, I know) but I don't think this is overdone. Really sharp, yes but I'll bet its no where near as apparent in the full res version. I think what I really like about this is the path the eye takes following the rocks to the horizon then following the cloud line back to the light. Link to comment
tony_gieske 0 Posted May 22, 2008 As sunset pictures go, this one is tops. So many colors even though you think its orange. Shapes of rocks vs. shapes of clouds is nice approach, plus the picture box is nice and deep. All from that little old D200. Can't wait to see what you get with a D300, not that you need one. wedeko 0 Posted May 22, 2008 Wow, I thought the other one was amazing for its light, but this one is even better. Superb light and excellent details. What else can I say, just beautiful. Regards Wendy Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted May 27, 2008 I've been staring at it for a while, I couldn't come out with much to say.....I guess sometimes you have to be content with just looking at something you like, and say nothing at all. Beauty may render you wordless. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted June 8, 2008 Simply put, it is just a stunning image. Nicely done. Dan Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted June 13, 2008 Both shots are simply beautiful. I like the horizontal version more for the contrast of light and clouds. Link to comment

whydangle 0 Posted July 7, 2008 Hey Younes, congrats on this being selected by the elves. I like everything about this as a photographic art piece. The clouds have a brushstroke appearance. I don't see this as hyper-sharpened, maybe the sky could have been masked, but I actually think it is well rendered. I can't help but feel that it is leaning left, perhaps a false horizon fooling my eyes. I also think the rocks may have been juxtaposed to the right more so the reflection is not obscured, but that is just a little nit. Good stuff Man! Link to comment
chrissyone 0 Posted July 7, 2008 Breathtaking. I love the perspective, and the stillness of it. You managed the contrast well, too. Link to comment
anhaga 0 Posted August 4, 2008 Jaw dropping light, and a simple composition that compliments it and allows the whole thing to appear uncluttered and beautifully pure. Another excellent shot! J Link to comment
