mark_kay 0 Posted April 29, 2002 Today will i was out at a Nature wildlife area near my home, I saw this Egret stumble onto what I suspect was a nest from another bird. For about 30 minutes, the birds kept trying to get the heron to leave and it finally did. I took some shots and curious as to which ones you like and any suggestions. TO take these, I had my 1D on a Gitzo 1349 tripod and Kirk BH-1 Head, 500mm/f4 lens and 1.4x canon TC. All shots in Raw and converted to jpg for posting. Some cropping, minor levels and USM applied before conversion. I am not sure this is the best of the group so i invite you to look at the others .I would love to know your favorites. thanks in advance. http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=202519 Link to comment
dan_sheppard 0 Posted April 30, 2002 I looked at all the "attack" pictures. To convey the idea of the egret being attacked by the other birds, I think "Attack on the Heron - 2" is the best shot. Otherwise, I think the shots, which have the eyes in focus of the birds are the best. Several good ones there. Link to comment
bpm1 0 Posted August 18, 2002 I think you really captured something special here that is not often seen. I have spent some time in the Everglades & never witnessed this, the egret is really puffing out to be more imposing. Wonderful image! BTW the attacking bird is an American Avocet (summer plumage) acc. to Peterson's Field Guide Link to comment
