Comments, suggestions, ratings appreciatedon this book illustration.

This is from a series of shots, sepia-toned to look old-timey, for a

book of re-told fairy tales. Photos use children for a whimsical

effect. I'll be re-shooting some of these: suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't think you can do much better than this, unless you can get the bed top-rail horizontal instead of slanted. Great expressions on both subjects. I'm just afraid the axe will slip.

Loooooooooovvveeee it. Superb expressions on both faces. You went just a bit too far holding back the light on the dog's face, it is unbalanced now. But that is easy to correct.

I assume some kind f forced perspective got this shot for you

Really VERY good... The expressions are the best part, and I see to flaw - except maybe I would have suggested a VERY mild burning on the background - still making sure it eels like daylight and contrasts with the axe. Well done, and yes, I did smile...

As for the ratings on this image, I don't get it at all... 1s, 2s ? I mean: nobody is forced to like the idea, but maybe some folks could consider the objective quality of the work done here. Or maybe, Robert, you should have stated that no animal was hurt in the making of etc. :-)

I agree with Marc. It's no fun to think this would be for real, but real or not real it doesn't have anything to do with quality of photo.

I hope it's not real either, since I actually like dogs, but photo by itself (how it's done and all those things which goes with photo) is really good.

I deleted my comments on your image.

You invite critique, but don't like it if it isn't some kiss-ass-oh-what-a-good-photograph thing. The image is flawed on several levels which I pointed out to you as a critique.

I don't critique to "assuage my own ego," as you suggest. Nor did I stoop to personal insult by suggesting your comments make no sense and are ridiculous. And nowhere in my previous comments did I even hint that I consider myself better than you in any respect. Frankly, that's just bullshit...pure and simple.

So to parphrase you, I won't waste my time commenting on your images...any of them...in the future.
