As above, I'd say that light and composition are very good, expression is better here, but still, something's missing for to catch my attention as much as the background does. Regards.

I think looking out was ok, Doug, it's mostly the half smile, the mouth, and the angle of the head that are abit of a let down, I'd say. For example, mouth slightly open, head a bit down, looking deeper outside as if trying to see something would do the trick as well. Many ways, I believe...
