Lovely soft natural portrait. I like how the columns guide the eye to your model. Nice pose and expression.

Before anything else, I have a question: were you behind the camera when you shot this one, or were you a bit on the left with the camera set on tripod next to you ? Or else what was she looking at ? And another question: was there a bit of wind at this specific spot when you shot this ?

Interesting questions: I was behind the camera, and there was no wind to speak of. I should have used a tripod because it was dark and over 2/3rds of the photos were fuzzy because of either camera shake, or too shallow dof matched to my blurry vision; but a tripod would have been very slow, and was quite heavy to lug around, considering how quickly we were moving from spot to spot.

Now the reasons why I asked these 2 questions:

1) It seems she's looking very slight to the left of the photographer.

2) With no wind, and unless she'd be pregnant - which I doubt -, I couldn't figure why the dress would make such a curve on the left side.

These 2 things are the two things that bother me a bit in this one. Cheers.

Maybe a better looking photographer walked by behind me and caught her attention, but as I remember, we were the only ones there. I could have directed her to look a little to one side, though, as I've done that before with other subjects. I would say that, if she's looking off to one side, it's a very subtle distance.

Hah! ....No, she is not pregant. The dress is cut that way, and hangs like that on her body. I noticed this when we were shooting, and was a bit disappointed with many of the full length shots because they did not do her figure any justice.

Thank you Marc,

Geeesh ! Advise her to change her fashion supplier, if the design is this way ! And I mean it seriously ! :-)

I'll be sure to pass that along to her.

You should see some of the outfits the woman around here put on. I'm not much of a fashion conscious person, but I can surely tell what I like, and what I don't like. Quite often, some absurd and ugly fad will come along, and all the girls will be seen wearing it because it's the latest thing. The craze this spring was over the calf cowboy boots coupled with simple, above the knee dresses, the style a girl of 6 or 7 would wear. Kind of silly, if you ask me, but it was everywhere.
