paolo de faveri 1 Posted May 14, 2008 Hello everybody, this is the Lago Verde - Green Lake -, a very small lake lying in a wooden hollow at the top of the Valle Stretta - Narrow valley - at 6000 ft. of altitude in the Western Alps in Piedmont, near to the French border. Some decades ago a slump caused many larches and pine trees to fall in the lake. The branches of the trees have dissolved in the water, and only the trunks remain nowadays, arranged in such an entangled manner that makes me think of a huge shangai game. The amazing emerald tint of the water is given by a thick bed of frogs covering the bottom of the lake. I took this picture on monday evening around sunset. Very bad, flat light unfortunately. I will certainly get back there soon, hopefully with some better light, as the location deserves it. Your C&C are highly appreciated, thanks for your time. Paolo Details: Eos 400D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, tripod, GND 2x. The picture is a stitch of three vertical frames. Link to comment
