Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted May 11, 2008 I played around a bit with HDR this weekend. The process is somewhat complicated and frustrating, especially with primitive equipment, whih is what I'm using. I downloaded HDR Tools Basic 2.1, available free online, and did an HDR rendering of this portrait. After playing around with it for a bit, I have to say I find the process interesting. Not every image will work on HDR, as some pictures NEED their imperfections to work as art, but applied well, it does bring a different dimension to imagemaking. I intend to mess around with it a bit more. Thanks for your time. Link to comment

rana1 0 Posted May 14, 2008 I like the tones and mood in this picture...Gabriel absorbed in his discovery of the world around him...a glimpse of simple moments...meaningful and memorable... (I would crop the wall on the left though) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 14, 2008 Emmanuel, nice tonal range, Gabriel is sweet as always, I would have cropped thought nearly all the wall on the L and part of the R till near the slot in the curtain and change it to a square , as both sides are not adding IMO to the whole, and will bring the child to the center of attention. To show you what I think I upload it, if you don't want it please let me know I will delete it. jeffl7 0 Posted May 17, 2008 Great shot. I like the one little hand reaching into the light. I also like the break in the curtains and the shadow (instead of light) streaming through. I like how you are documenting and participating in his sense of discovery. Link to comment

aginbyte 0 Posted June 22, 2008 ... and how Gabriel is watching that effect and learning it. The essence of childhood - discovery - and how we learn about the world. The HDR is very interesting as well, how many exposures did you use to get the shot? This is a shot that you will treasure over the years. Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted June 22, 2008 Well, pseudo-HDR. It was one shot with HDR merely extending the tonal range. Link to comment
