aepelbacher 0 Posted May 9, 2008 The ocotillo was my favorite of all the desert flora that I observed during my week there. They were in bloom ... red flowers at the ends of the "stalks". But they were difficult subjects of a composition. I don't have nearly as many images of ocotillo as I do of saguaro. But this is one that I thought was worth uploading. Thoughts? Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted May 10, 2008 I think this is my favorite, so far, of your posted images. The composition is terrific; wonderful vertical lines; and the low clouds in the sky work well with the saguaro and ocotillo. Looks like morning light to me! Nice work, Lou Ann! Cheers! aepelbacher 0 Posted May 10, 2008 You're right, Chris. It was morning work. Although I have to add that I was a bit frustrated that the Desert Museum only opens at 7:30 and the Saguaro NP at 7:00. No chance for sunrise photography, and they will ticket you $250 (I asked how hard & fast the rules are). They have problems with drug smugglers/dealers coming through the parks. Anyway - this shot was taken soon after 7:30 when I arrived at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted May 10, 2008 This one sings to me. The morning sun is making love to the edges of the cactus. The clarity is fantastic. The color palate broad enough to be very interesting yet in such harmony as to be soothing (if dried up plants and prickly things can be soothing.) The angles are vertical, horizontal and everything in between. Never a dull moment. And the sky - a perfect blend of cirrus and altocumulus (if I remember correctly from college meteorology.) Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
