This male Eastern Box Turtle (whose shell shows sign of a past

breaking and entering attempt) was out and about just after a spring rain

shower, looking for slugs, worms, and perhaps some turtle romance.

This is a very expressive shot to me. The eye really makes the shot and the spot on focus in the foreground is wonderful. By the way, your portfolio, particularly your sporting shots are excellent, particularly in this day and age. Best Regards.

He certainly looks as though this is his first portrait sitting. Impressively steady use of tree root tripod at 1/10, sharp where we want it and nice bokeh behind. Great detail.

Hi Matt ... Looking her eyes, I'm sure she was looking for a turtle romance ... Best wishes. Good shot ...
