Finally back from AZ. More changes in my life coming up in the next couple of weeks, but I will be online more often (hopefully).

I loved the desert landscape. Many of the cacti were blooming, as it was late April/early May. I can't remember if this is from a prickly pear plant, maybe Chris can correct me.

What do you think of the DOF? I wanted to really blur the background, but in doing so, the top flower is a bit fuzzy. Is that okay since the bottom flower is real sharp? Other thoughts?

Yup, looks like a beavertail prickly pear to me. Nice shot! I'm glad that you enjoyed one of my favorite deserts, the Sonoran. It is a fantastic ecosystem. Cheers! Chris

Don't think I've ever seen these flowers in this shade of apricot before? Really wonderful hues. I am more familiar with the magenta hued flowers that seem to proliferate the Sonoran Desert in California. Looks like you hit upon a really magical time with so much cacti in bloom?
