bosshogg 4 Posted May 6, 2008 Nice to see you posting again. I really like what the yellow balloons do for this image. That whole lower right side would be fairly dead without them and they go nicely with the red bakery sign. It really has the feel of the city. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted May 6, 2008 Thanks, Dave. I've been away for a while, but it's good to be back. I liked the balloons too--balloons and bakeries give me happy thoughts (unlike Checks Cashed stores, which usually aren't happy places). This place has a beautiful sign, although the lighting conditions weren't optimal when I was there and I'll have to go back, but I look forward to doing so (and maybe having a cupcake). tonmestrom 4 Posted May 6, 2008 Doug, David is right. But why complain about the light. I know your subject is that sign but the light doesn't get any better than in those balloons. Together with that sign it works perfectly and enhances your sign in no small measure Link to comment

dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted May 8, 2008 Thanks, Linda. There is quite a combination of different types of lighting here. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 10, 2008 Um, yeah - what Linda said! :-) Seriously, I love the monotone feel of the rest of the image and then the play of the bright, happy yellow against the earthy red in the neon sign. Good work! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted May 14, 2008 I love how the colorful parts of the scene are electrified. A nice composition. Link to comment
