alex_kew 0 Posted May 9, 2008 Very striking shot, love it!! There's a blue colour cast that maybe needs taking care of, but framing etc is spot on. Link to comment
hansendj 0 Posted May 9, 2008 Very cool shot! I was expecting to see that you used at least 400 mm to get this much detail. Congrats. I work at an Air Force base but I'm too paranoid to try to take photos because I expect the MP's to be on my back in 2 seconds flat...so I'm jealous now. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted May 15, 2008 Thanks Alex. the new version is now uploaded to this folder (or atlest should be... cant remember...) Daniel, good to hear from ya man, been a while. Hey, you gotta try it, you're at the right place to get nearly infinite practice... yeah... thats it... practice... I was able to get this shot because he basically came right over the crowds. If he had done this pass over the RW, not a chance of being as sharp. This is actually a very minimal crop and 400mm would have been way too long... But, i am waiting for my film to come back which was shot with a 400mm lens. Should be here this week. Link to comment
hansendj 0 Posted May 15, 2008 So you were two-timing it now? Film and digital? With the 70-200 and the 100-400? Now I'm jealous of your equipment. I'm slacking, I know... I don't shoot nearly as much as I'd like, and as for posting, well, I feel like nothing I have is worth posting lately. Hopefully I'll get some stuff soon. I also need to post comments more...just getting too busy to take the time to even do that. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for the film shots you're expecting. Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted May 15, 2008 dont bother, i got them back today, either boring or botched exposures... (d*mn slide film, exposure latitude of a ticks a**....) However, many of the images in the Sun n' fun 08, and 07, were done with film. My film kit is the FD mount, so i use a 400mm F4.5 lens that is just a treat. Very sharp (if i dont shake it around or focus poorly...) and was a steal IMO at 300$. I know how you feel about things not worthy etc... i just usually post them anyway, clear the quota, then delete them :)... Link to comment
laure 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Dan, thanks for your comment on my pix. I can't believe you got this one out of a 200mm lense... could hardly get a good shot with my 300. Congrats! Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted June 17, 2008 Thanks Laur. I got lucky in that this guy came nearly completely overhead. It was awesome; loud, clear, fast.. Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 3 Posted October 26, 2009 Great shot! I am a huge fan of airshows and military aircraft. Everyday F-18's fly over my house like clockwork; the sound is music to my ears! Thanks so much for sharing this photo! :) Link to comment
