This is so good (as are almost all of your portraits). I very fond of the way you've captured that hand seemingly in mid gesture, and the sharpness of the hand as well as the face. I know you will disagree, but it calls for a black band across the top (and maybe the bottom. You're a wonderfully skilled artist.

The hand was in mid gesture. I do not recall why. Must have been something to do with her daughter. I did not know the hand was going to pop up into the picture She was probably not aware of this shot; I do not remember taking it. I cannot account for the sharpness of both the hand and the eye because I focus on the eye and usually shoot wide open......... The black bands are not there to be aesthetic i.e. to frame; they just happen to be there because I layer all photos onto a square black background so that horizontal, vertical and square format have the same total image area, file size permitting. Thanks for the critique.
