Vernal Falls, Yosemite

cris benton

While most of the photographs I have posted on Photo.net are taken from kite-lofted cameras, this one involved a 30-foot carbon fiber fishing pole adapted to position a small camera. I used a CHDK intervalometer script to fire the camera every ten seconds once it was in place. Great fun.The waterfall is 317 feet (~100 meters) high.

Unique perspective. One doesn't often see a picture of a waterfall from this point of view. A nice sense of motion in the water, but I don't feel the height.

Dramatic and effective. Showing the height (by using a wider lens, most likely) would be fine, but this is effective in its own way. I love your posting title, "Plan View of Waterfall"...humorous. Good work!
