maurocarli 0 Posted April 30, 2008 A perfect composition for a beautiful and peaceful place. The house on the background makes the photo even more intriguing. Nice work, Douglas! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 1, 2008 Nice one! I like the juxtaposition of the barren and earth-toned beach and the rich, alive house and greenery in the background. Interestingly, there's warmth in both the foreground and background, but a different kind of warmth, perhaps energy, at play in each. The dramatic sky provides a third contrast. The house being in haze gives it a certain quality. I'm unsure whether the prominence of the wood in the foreground is adding much to the scene. The perspective gives that front corner quite a bit of weight in the overall image. Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Mauro,Thanks so much for the comment. It was a peaceful place. Except for another couple on the beach I had the place to myself. Fred, I was trying to show the ruggedness of the environment that this well kept house sits in/ I have a different crop that shows even more of the wood that changes the perspective and I may post it in a few days. As always, thanks for taking the time to look an comment on my images. I am honored. Doug Link to comment
rekaras 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Unusual capture as far as the color palette I really like the contrasting tonality of the overall image and the composition is great. Congrats, rek. Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Richard I think I was very lucky with the light, scattered thick clouds made for interesting shadows and highlights. Thanks for the comment. Link to comment
