This bird is well composed and the watering hole and environmental information gives real life to the bird. You have achieved a very evenly lit "Black-neck Stilt" ( if that is the s[pecies where you are from). The drops of water are pointed to by the posture of the bird and make up the theme of this image: birds actively observe, stay vigilant for security as that eye at you states, and do what is necessary to stay alive.

Wow. This is just wonderful. I love the colors and the focus and especially the water droplets.

in my opinion, stilts are quite difficult to photograph - they are shy, and have black+white contrasty plumage. This one perhaps belongs to the best stilt shots I've seen
