I think that the tree is prunus "pink perfection", but I will stand corrected.

This is from a series of flower photographs, where I am trying to take what the camera sees, then turn it into what the eye sees by manipulating the image in L*a*b colour space in PS CS3.

I stand corrected. The leaves are wrong for "pink perfection". The variety is variously known as "Kazan" and "Sekiyama", both of which have something to do with "sacred mountain".
