timkeller 0 Posted April 26, 2008 A fascinating place, Pnina, and I love how you've been able to shoot it from above, creating a perfect composition. My eye is drawn to the many details...and none more than that huge boulder seemingly growing out of the base of the upper wall, as though the wall was simply carved from the rock. The picture is rather light on my monitor; I imagine the same shot with more dramatic light, as from cloud cover and/or setting sun...it could be extraordinary. As it is, very rich subject matter with much to enjoy. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted April 26, 2008 Tim, thanks for your nice and extensive evaluation. My monitor even calibrated is darkerin its presentations. I played a tiny bit with levels, do you find it better,it enhances the light and shadow of the place. Dick, I don't know where you live, but you are right, Europe is beautiful. Thanks for your nice feedback. Andrea, thanks! Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted April 26, 2008 I love how the jagged construction pairs with the uneven change of depth of the sea. Beautiful details. Link to comment

rarmstrong 0 Posted April 26, 2008 I live in the wilderness of the upper peninsula of Michigan in a small town. I spent 9 months in Europe when I was in the Navy. I burnt through a lot of film back then with my first Canon SLR, the A1. Your photos make me very anxious to return with new digital equipment. I spent some time in Rota and in Majorica...just lovely! Regards, Dick Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted April 27, 2008 Toledo is like a steadfast fortress, surrounded by water. I remember there is a moat crossing to it? Nice perspective of this. Link to comment

gordonjb 10,860 Posted April 27, 2008 Such an enchanting scene. The perspective from above adds to that tumbling down the hillside appearance of the city. I love the way the wall and other architecture incorporates the stone of the cliff face into the structures. This one needs to be seen large to appreciate all the detail. Link to comment

Cherlyn, you well remember ...;-)) Jack, L'chaim ! Gordon, I always look at the large mode, as it is better for details. timkeller 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Yes, Pnina, the darkening brings out much more richness and improves the photo. I often find that I have to darken my photos for PN (versus all other programs and websites). This is lovely...everything I said before and more. Thanks! Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Hello, my friend! This caught my eye in the thumbnail version. Terrific composition, and exquisite detail. Pnina, to my eye, this photograph just begs for a black and white conversion. It has such wonderful contrasts and tones; and I think the building's angles and geometry will highlight well in B&W. Where is this, pray tell? Well seen and captured! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
