lptem 0 Posted April 25, 2008 Outstanding work, Liz. The shadows and night sky are creepy, and the contrasts are interesting...very effective! lauren Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted April 26, 2008 A rather haunting effect with the shadows cast on the church & the deep blue dark surroundings. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Dramatic, effective treatment, Liz. Nice! Warm regards... Link to comment

william_griffin1 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Hi Liz I am just now trying to catch up on alot of viewing I have missed in the couple of months due to remodeling my house. Your pic here is the first one I pulled up, this is great what you did here with the light and shadows. I love shooting this time of the evening but it can be a challenge ,looks like you have mastered the availiable light here beautifully. Lighting, framing and beautiful building all make for a wonderful shot, well done. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Bill, many thanks for stopping by. Glad you're back "on". I've been away a lot also. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 22, 2008 I'd like to see a little less saturation bust for this image, especially for the blues. You captured some very nice late afternoon shadows on the old church that were truly wonderful. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted August 22, 2008 Shawn, I appreciate your comment. I was after a treatment which would show off the shadows more starkly, and the vibrant colors came into it. I kind of liked that they made the image different and not so predictable. I was just playing with it. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted September 18, 2008 I think you have done some post processing and I really like the effect. There are times when you want to represent the image as you remember it and then there are other times when one has a vision for an image and this one falls in the latter category. I like it the way it is - saturated blues and all. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted September 19, 2008 Thank you for your comments, Tony. This was a work of "try it, you'll like it" type editing. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted November 4, 2008 Hi Liz, I am just looking at your portfolio for the first time. This one really jumped out at me, partly because I was recently in Halifax and partly because I love these old Victorian style (?) buildings. I love the bright colours people use to paint these buildings in the east, something we don't see here where I live. I like the angle here, I like the shadows on the yellow clapboard. I agree with Shawn that the blue is a bit over saturated, but otherwise a wonderful image. A beautiful subject, beautifully captured. I wish I had seen this when I was there! All the best. lizweisiger 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Thank you, Linda, for your thoughts. I love this area. I took this image, and edited it, back when I was just beginning to make my way through the photography world. I don't even remember what editing program I was using then. Thank you for stopping by.
