danbliss 0 Posted April 25, 2008 Thank you HuHu and Jacob. Jacob, I was wondering if people would even notice the lighthouse. It is pretty small unless you look at the larger version of the image. I tried to indicates its existence with the title. In any case, thank you very much for your comments. Dan Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted April 25, 2008 Thank you Mikel. I appreciate your comments and your wonderful photographs. To whomever gave me the 4/4 and 3/3, really? Uhg. :-) Dan Link to comment
deans 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Dan, You have a wonderful photo here. The lighthouse really makes the shot. Don't worry about the 3/3 ratings, they're full of it. I think they need to throw out the lowest rating and the highest rating to be more fair. Regardless, I would be proud to have this hanging on my wall. Dean Link to comment
eugenio_pastor_benjumeda 0 Posted April 26, 2008 It's a magic and attractive landscape, Dan. Very good in B&W. Congrats. Eugenio. Link to comment
corkman 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Great shot all around Dan. Can't recall when I've seen a more perfectly composed landscape on this site. A quality that's evident in all your work, especially the black and whites. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Dean, Eugenio, and William, thank you for your very kind words. I appreciate them greatly. For anyone reading this, I am particularly fond of Dean's Landscapes, Eugenio's landscapes and architectural photos and Williams motocross photos. They are all worth taking a moment to view. It is my photo, so I am the worst person to comment, but the things that drew me to this imager were the backwards S of the light area (which hopefully guides your eye to the lighthouse) and the texture of the rocks. The interesting thing about taking the image was that it was a shot with a neutral density filter that was so dark that I could not see through it. I had to setup the shot and then put on the filter. This may be interesting to me only. :-) Dan Link to comment
mikulski 0 Posted April 28, 2008 Perfect, stunningly beautiful photo. Compsoition is great and the b&w tones can't be better, the framing works nice with the image. Congrats Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Glad you included that bit about the filter...very interesting! The clarity in the rocks is superb and shows such wonderful texture...it's such a great contrast to the time-smoothed water and moody sky. Love the little bitty lighthouse...again, it contrasts nicely...such a small thing to be watching over such a vast sea/world. Well done. Link to comment
