Quality indeed...you've managed to find the "good light" again...i like your original image better because of the induced diagonal and the natural equlibrium of the bird that tends to fall on her tail in Jeff's version...

This bird seems to have a human like character. He clearly looks sad. Not a good day I guess. Great capture.
