Well, what a treat! And for an ex-Coast Guardsman; you have no idea how much this is appreciated. I had a friend of mine back in the 1970s, a Boatswain's Mate Chief Petty Officer, who was the officer-in-charge at this lighthouse, and he loved the place. Fantastic composition and exposure! I love it; and thanks for sharing, Thadd. I definitely want to visit this light when I come to Maine. Cheers! Chris

It may have been done a bajillion times (that certainly sounds like a lot), but if you've never taken a photograph here, it deserves another shot. You were fortunate to have such great sky -- it's a very nice image.

I think any time you visit an icon, you shoot it. You might also have to shoot the same shot someone else has before, there's a reason you see the same viewpoints - they look better! I see you cheated and climbed the fence - I did too. Unfortunately the fog was so thick when I was there I could barely make out the light. Nice shot.
